Our specialized practice is based on the Orton Gillingham methodology where students are engaged using VAKT(visual, auditory kinesthetic, tactile) methodology. These individualized sessions are both diagnostic and prescriptive focusing on the individual needs of each student.
By meeting the child where they are at in their reading and writing, we are able to provide a challenging yet successful learning environment for the student. This helps boost their confidence, and, in turn, propel them further in their learning.
Students start each session with drills focused on reading and writing followed by new material, or review and reinforcement of past topics covered. We ensure that concepts are solid before presenting new material. This methodical, step-by-step practice ensures student success, while maintaining the active, hands on approach of Strive Learning.
